Is this Bieber Revenge or a Simple Fashion Don’t

We all know the sweet and innocent Selena Gomez, but her most recent outfit doesn’t look so innocent. Is this her way of showing the Biebs what he lost or just another celeb down spiral? Well, in our eyes, Sel is perfect no matter what she wears.

As short as those shorts are, she’s definitely flaunting what her mama gave her. The oversized plaid shirt, ankle boots, and fringe leather jacket is so chic. It’s balanced perfectly with two simple gold necklaces.

However, as bold as this statement is, there’s no excuse for that much cheek. Especially in the public eye. We all have our reasons for the things we do, so we can’t judge the gorgeous Gomez. All in all, she looked amazing as always, but maybe next time longer shorts would have been the better choice.

Is Orange Really the New Black?

Spring and summer 2014 fashion trends are showing that orange is the new black. Really? Orange? Orange is a wonderful color for spring and summer because it’s playful and bright. However, it’s not a universal color like black. I’m no expert, but orange just doesn’t seem right.

Black is the new black! You can pair anything with the color black. No matter what season or time of day. Black may seem unoriginal and basic, but it has and will always be the most versatile color.

You may be thinking that black is a little too harsh for during the day or summertime. If that’s the case then go for white. White may seem plain and boring, but it all depends what you pair it with.

During the day, wear that white bikini and white floppy hat to the beach. It’s sexy yet pure and simple. As night approaches, throw on that classy little black dress and heels because it will never go out of style and still flatter any body.

The runway may scream orange, but it doesn’t say much to me. Black will always be modern and sleek and go with anything laying around in your closet. Of course feel free to let me know what color is your new black!

Bikini Body Ready

It’s summer! And you know what that means. It’s all about bikinis and fun in the sun. Looks like we already have some celebrities rocking that perfect summer body.

Michelle Keegan and boyfriend Mark Wright are looking fabulous as always at a beach in Dubai. The matching black bathing suits are complimenting to both and are number one on my Bikini Body Ready list.

Olga Kent is looking perfect as always at Miami Beach. No question about it that her body is summer ready. And that bikini is just gorgeous on her!

Let’s not forget the gorgeous Halle Berry. She may be 47 and have two children, but she puts 23 year olds to shame. She’s always had a perfect body and didn’t let being a mom change that. Good for you Halle! And let’s not forget beautiful Nahla in the picture!

Miley Cyrus seems to be a hit or miss for some people. Let’s put no judgement on her for a moment and really look at her. She is beautiful and that body takes work. She looks wonderful in that all black bikini. Good job Miley!

Oh my. Jennifer Lawrence is rocking that blue bikini while at the beach in Hawaii. This photo may be back in 2012, but her body has always been admirable. Hands down one of my favorite actress and body.

Who wore it better?

Every once in awhile you’ll catch celebrities wearing the same thing. Although, rarely at the same event. Imagine the feeling of seeing someone else wearing the same thing as you but better? Celebrities are always compared to one another on their sizes and what they wear.

Miley vs. Rosie
Obviously they both look ah-mazing. BUT, I personally believe Miley has Rosie slightly beat. The clothing it’s self is exactly the same, but it’s the little things like the accessories and hair that make all the difference. Miley’s short hair and simple gold high neck necklace leave this look polished and put together. Rosie’s long thicker necklace overdoes it and her hair down doesn’t show off her collarbone. 20131114-205432.jpg

Taylor vs. Heidi
Such a fabulous look. The simple silver dress that you can easily dress up or down. I’m going with Heidi on this one. Sorry Taylor. I love the fact that her shoes are very simple and keeps the focus on the dress. The fact that her hair is up really pulls the look together and shows off the dress perfectly. The way taylor wore it didn’t catch my attention as much as Heidi. 20131114-205449.jpg

Jennifer vs. Kim
My my. All those curves. They both look spectacular in that Donna Karan gray drape plunging neckline. It hugs their bodies wonderfully and flatters all the right places. Although, I’m loving Jennifer more then Kim’s look. The fact that the clothing was sewed together for the chest part balances perfectly with the high cut in the front. Kim’s is just too much with the deep neckline. 20131114-205523.jpg

Julianne vs. Jennifer
Looks like Jennifer’s been on a role. Looking fantastic as always, Julianne and Jennifer’s dresses are identical but they both wear it very differently. Jennifer is rocking the black nylons, black boots, and black hat to give that geometric dress even more excitement. Julianne leaves it basically plain without much to look at. Jennifer totally got my vote. 20131114-205537.jpg

Bee vs. Katy
M Pick is easy. Katy for sure. Katy spices up that collared floral dress with black nylons, shoes, hat, and motorcycle. Bee on the other hair looks kinda boring to me. There’s nothing to it and it looks too simple.

Braids are Back

Braids! Braids are so hot right now. French, fishtail, dutch, waterfall, you name it. Many stars have been rocking the braid down the red carpet. Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, and Blake Lively have all been seen wearing many different forms of the braid. From sleek and elegant to laid back and casual, braids can be very versatile. You can easily wear a fishtail to the beach and a French to a party. It’s incredible how one simple concept of a hairstyle can be transformed into various other ways. Braids seem to be a big trend right now. Definitely give it a try next time you’re not sure what to do with your hair.

2013 CMA Awards: BEST and WORST Dressed

We all know walking down the red carpet is an honor. From ocassions like the Oscars, VMAs, CMAs, and many more. This article focuses on the 2013 CMA Best and Worst Dressed Celebrities.

WORST: Shawna Thompson. There was nothing flattering about it. It looked and felt awkward. It was almost bringing back the 80’s. 20131110-223003.jpg

WORST: Lynn Anderson. Everything about this look looks heavy. The brown and white is almost boring and and she resembles a big indian feather. She, herself, looks gorgeous as always, but her ‘dress’ was a big miss.20131110-223314.jpg

BEST: Hayley Orrantia. Everything about this look is sweet and simple. The simple lace top and full floral skirt seems to be in trend and looking fabulous. 20131110-223857.jpg

WORST: Aubrey Peeples. Wrong, wrong, and wrong. It’s all wrong. The solid baneau underneath doesn’t go with the sheer black lace on top. And the full skirt is just to high on the hips. It’s simply just too short and unsophisticated. 20131110-223517.jpg

BEST: Jana Kramer. A slight resemblance to Hayley Orrantia, but still looking stunning. Almost like a darker version of Hayley’s. The fitted long sleeved top works perfect with the floral full length skirt. 20131110-224053.jpg

BEST: Miranda Lambert. Looking stunning in her royal blue full length dress. That plunging neckline looking sexy but not overboard. Job well done Miranda. 20131110-224214.jpg

WORST:  Cassadee Pope. Amazing voice, not so amazing dress. From top to bottom, it is all just awful. The lines are not proportioned. It’s random and looks cheap. 20131110-224433.jpg

BEST: Carrie Underwood. Looking incredible as always in a skin colored beaded gown. From the hair and makeup to the dress itself, everything was spot on. 20131110-224751.jpg

BEST: Taylor Swift. Taylor has a unique style where you either like it or you don’t. She blew me away this time. The full red gown was definitely a show stopper.

Top 8 Fashion Don’ts

Now now, this is one tricky topic. There is such diverse style in this world where some might say fashion is all about ones opinion. Well, in a way they have a point, but some things are just common sense. Most of us have already discovered what our style is and how to wear it best, but some things just simply should not be worn in public.

1. Too short trousers. Nobody likes those awkward length pants. There’s simply unflattering and it looks like you can’t afford properly fitted clothes. If you’re a difficult height and size to shop for, opt for a pair too long because you can always shorten them yourself to the proper length.

2. Neon makeup. This goes without saying. The whole point of makeup is to enhance and brighten up the features you already have. When I say brighten, I don’t mean you should resemble a headlight, but more to draw attention to your better features. Women love to experiment with makeup which is a wonderful and fun thing to do, but looking like a clown is just downright embarrassing.

3. Panty lines! An enormous don’t. You don’t want to be that women that walks by and has a group of girls laughing at your lined uneven butt. A simple thong will do the trick. And if you’re not comfortable in thongs, full lace underwear will work just as good.

4. Socks and sandals. It’s horrifying. There’s no way around this look or even any way to improve it. Homeless is the first word that comes to mind when I see it. No one wants to look poor. Find any pair of closed toed shoes and wear those instead. Or you could just take off the socks all together and just wear the sandals. I’m sorry girls, but there’s no way around this one.

5. Baggy on baggy. You might as well be a bag! Oversized sweaters and shirts will always be on trend, but nothing that looks like it’s drowning your entire body. Remember, if the top is baggy then the bottoms must be fitted and vise versa.

6. Furry chewbacca boots. Even in the winter these boots are a major no no. It doesn’t have anything to do with how you wear it or what color. The boots themselves are just hideous.

7. Accessory overload. We’ve all heard this before, but that doesn’t excuse it from being a major ‘don’t’. You know that rule ‘always take off one accessory before you leave the house’? Well it is the most helpful rule in the fashion industry. Some designers literally will do this to their model before they send them down the runway.

8. Shiny leggings, jeggings, or pants. One word. Loud. Loud isn’t always bad though. IF it’s done tastefully. Unfortunately there is nothing tasteful about reflective bottoms. It reminds me of disco, and there’s nothing cute about that.
